Tai Chi is meditation in motion: learn a series of slow, continuous movements that promote physical and mental well being, and improve coordination and balance. This is the Level 2 class. Read below.
This course was previously called Tai Chi Beginners Level 2 or Tai Chi Level 3 which in 2017 ran on Tuesdays 6 - 7:30 PM and Wednesdays 6 - 7:30PM. Please join this class if you previously studied in one of these time slots.
Please contact the office on 521 9623 or info@selwyncomed.school.nz if you are unsure of your level or need advice on available classes.
Having mastered correct postures and movements, in this second level of Tai Chi, the focus of learning is to develop an awareness of the balance between internal and external chi.
Only those re-enrolling from previous terms, or those directed to do so by Bruno.
Tai Chi Elementary (at Selwyn College or at Orakei Community Centre) is suitable for you.
The elementary level of Tai Chi teaches you the correct stances and movements that cultivate the flow of chi (energy) in your body. Teacher Bruno advises that most students practise at elementary level for a year or more. The focus is on developing the rounded and relaxed movements (steps) of tai chi with the correct posture. Once students can perform their steps accurately and as second-nature, the focus shifts to feeling chi in the body. At this stage, Bruno may suggest you progress to the next level.
Search on our website for Tai Chi Elementary or Tai Chi Elementary @ Orakei. Courses are available on Friday 12:30 PM, or Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM.
