Note that in order to create the best experience, the number of participants will be kept to 12 kids. To achieve this, and to keep the programme affordable for families, the programme fee has been subsidized by the GetReal organisation and its sponsors. Today the focus is on regenerating habitat for birds, bees and bush. Kids will create seed balls, beeswax wraps, plant cuttings and nectar feeders which all contribute to providing healthy habitat and food for our urban pollinators and native wildlife.
Today's topic champion is Levi-Brindison-Hall presenting a city bee collaboration where he is working to turn our urban landscapes into places safe for all life: full of flowers, diversity, food and abundance. Levi is a passionate grower, explorer, teach, artist and advocate for nature. He believes that nature is the best teacher and inspires young people to connect with its magic and wonder.
Nicky Elmore, Enviro Schools Coordinator at Auckland Council, will run hands-on "eco" activities in the afternoon. Nicky is an Enviroschools Facilitator currently contracted to the Auckland Council Sustainable Schools Team. She was part of the group responsible for establishing the "gully" as a learning space at Meadowbank School, establishing and leading the Enviroschools programme and involved in setting up Garden to Table there. More recently Nicky has collaborated with For the Love of Bees and the Eastern Songbird project.

Each day - from Monday through Thursday will focus on a different topic (see below for details). Friday's activities will bring it all together, helping kids to reflect and decide on ways they can continue taking positive action and supporting causes that are important to them.
The programme runs from 8 - 12 October from 9 AM to 4 PM daily. Places are limited, so book early. Enrolment for individual days is permitted. However, preference will be given to those attending the whole week. The Friday workshop is only suitable for those who have attended at least one other day Monday to Thursday. If you have any questions, please enquire at the office.
