Are you feeling left behind with computers? Are you lacking confidence dealing with email? Join this small group and patient, kind computing teacher Kathy will teach you the basics of using a PC.
Do you struggle with filing your photos and documents on your computer in a coherent way? Not sure about Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel? Do you want to build your confidence with simple computer tasks at home. Would you like to start building your computer literacy for the job market?
Our kind and patient computing teacher Kathy will teach you the absolute basics and get you feeling confident about turning on the computer and completing simple tasks. This will provide a good foundation for starting computer learning if you wish to continue and learn how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Publisher to a higher level.
Those with little or no ability using a personal computer for simple tasks such as email, file management, writing letters, creating simple spreadsheets to capture numerical data and perform simple calculations. Those wanting to gain basic computing skills to enhance their employability. Please note this course is taught in a Personal Computer suite at Selwyn College. We do not offer MacBook (Apple) training on this course.
NOTE: This course is subsidised with funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizens and permanent migrants. For statistical purposes, some additional information is required as part of the enrolment process.
A condition of enrolment on this course is that you will attend at least 80% of the sessions. The first time you enrol, you'll need to provide evidence of your citizenship or residency by presenting your passport or other documentation. You can present this at the office or email a copy to us.
