Renewable energy is not just for rural properties, far from the grid. For those in the city, solar hot water systems are becoming common and solar photovoltaics may soon follow.  Eion Scott, Auckland Council eco design advisor, describes  the pros and cons of the various renewable energy options, how to achieve high levels of efficiency and how to access Auckland Council's streamlined building consent and the Energywise incentive programmes for solar hot water.This workshop includes a demonstration of materials or site visit (TBC)
