This course is designed as an introduction to long-term French learning. Suitable for absolute beginners or for those who have learned some French in the past and would like to consolidate basic skills as well as building up their French vocabulary.

Topic and vocabulary:
Grammar: to be and to have, subject pronouns, articles, gender and numbers of nouns, negative sentences, interrogative sentences, present tense of common verbs, numbers, time
General communication skills: at the end of the class, the student can introduce himself or someone else, ask and answer basic questions.
Research shows that it takes between 15 - 25 hours of study to be able to conduct the simplest of conversations in a second language, with that study being regularly undertaken (preferably daily) over a 6 - 8 week period. Your teacher will set homework assignments to reinforce classroom learning, and also recommends that you practise daily on www.duolingo.com or similar.
