Writing fiction is about writing what excites you, what inspires you, what haunts you. And that is what this course is all about. Over the the six weeks, we will delve into the core practical tools necessary for writing a novel. We’ll look at character and plot development, description and exposition, dialogue and narrative structure. Emphasis, throughout, will be on supporting each writer to develop his/her own writing voice. Additionally, this workshop is designed to build a fun and supportive group dynamic, in which everyone has the opportunity to read work aloud and receive constructive feedback. The trust that is built during the course of the six weeks often grows into last writing partnerships and groups. More than a class, this workshop is a portal into the writer’s life. So get ready…
