We will identify the original landscape and the location of some of the earliest buildings including Logan Campbell's Acacia Cottage. From Vulcan Lane we walk up Shortland St to the University grounds, enabling us to visit Old Government House from where George Grey exercised early governance. We will consider the contribution of Walter Lippincott to the city's architectural heritage, before walking down Victoria St E and Queen St, interpreting the cityscape and public spaces, to finish at Britomart.
