Join us for a convivial long lunch, entertained by the delightful Jo Seagar as she demonstrates a range of Italian dishes inspired by her recent culinary tour of Italy.
Jo is donating her appearance fee to Hospice so get on board and support this good cause.
Jo Seagar is a New Zealand writer, TV personality and celebrity cook. She lives in the small town of Oxford in North Canterbury. Jo initially trained as a nurse, and attended the Cordon Bleu cookery school in London while working there. Back in New Zealand, she opened Harley's Restaurant in Auckland with a friend. Jo ran "Seagars at Oxford" cooking school, café and kitchenware store for about ten years with her husband Ross, but it closed in 2015 after tourism decreased following the Canterbury earthquakes. Jo Seagar has written for a number of publications including North & South, New Zealand Woman's Weekly, Cuisine and Australian Woman's Weekly. She has already written many cookery books and leads culinary tours abroad.
Jo Seagar is patron and ambassador for Hospice, and raises money for the charity through cooking classes. In 2015 she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the community.
Hospice provides palliative care, a specialist medical service specifically for people who are dying. Palliative care is for people whose illness is no longer curable. The service works to provide quality of life, pain and symptom management, and cultural, emotional, spiritual and social support to enable clients to live every moment in whatever way is important to them as the end of life approaches.
