Join Stephanie Johnston to hone your short story skills.
The modern short story may take many forms. It can be poetic or prosaic, entirely fanciful or written as a piece of creative non-fiction. It can be thirty pages long or just a paragraph, or any length between. Whatever form stories take, certain elements are essential: strong voice, good structure, compelling language and complex characters. Participants are welcome to bring along short stories in draft for workshopping. Sessions will include writing exercises and constructive feedback.
You are invited to attend our opening address at 9am on Saturday 28 August 2021. Carole Beu from the Women's Bookshop will fire up the day with an early morning talk on her raves and faves. Have a cuppa, listen to Carole and meet others.
