Examining consumerism from an ethical and environmentally sustainable space, this workshop will give participants the basic knowledge and inspiration to take action on their journey to be more conscious consumers. Learn to consider the wider impacts of what you buy and use that knowledge as a powerful and simple way to affect change. Be empowered to realise how the simple act of buying something can become a political and personal action towards a better world.

A writer and mixed media artist as well as an eco-lifestylist, Stella Peg Carruthers lives her life in accordance with green values and social justice ideals. She practices conscious consumption on a daily basis through the choices she makes about what she does and doesn’t buy.
A firm believer in the agency of individual action, Stella uses her purchasing power to advocate for the kind of world she wants to live in. Supporting local businesses with low waste values and green principles she uses her money as a way to create positive change in the world through encouraging sustainable business practices.
Stella teaches this course to show how through shopping as a conscious consumer you can make the world a better place through the things you buy and the choices you make.
