Experience the art of jewellery making in this beginners course that provides an introduction to the jeweller's workshop and basic hand skills. From the first class, it will be a hands-on experience at the jeweller's bench. Each bench is well equipped with the individual tools needed for the course. Your tutor will held you work confidently, by covering a variety of manufacturing techniques like piercing, filing, annealing, soldering, texturing and polishing; skills you can practice and use in your own designs. The course fee includes all materials required to complete two projects, as well as coffee and tea during a compulsory 15 minute break.
The course is held offsite at the Jewellers Collective, Unit 2, 28 Clark St, New Lynn (entrance off Ward St).
A bib apron, wear closed-toe shoes, tie up any long hair. You are welcome to bring any handtools, metals, gems or projects, if you have them.
