Indian cuisine offers a huge variety of vegan recipes. We will cook a selection of these tasty dishes together including vege thali, cumin rice and beans, gobi mattar, chapati, mango curry, roti, crispy onion fritters with homemade tomato chutney.
Indian cuisine offers a huge variety of vegan recipes. We will cook a selection of these tasty dishes together.
Week 1: Vegan Thali including dahl, cumin rice and beans. A thali is a platter of several dishes that make a perfectly balanced meal and usually includes rice, dahl and vegetables.
Week 2: Gobi Mattar with Chapati. This is a cauliflower (gobi) and green pea (mattar) dish coked with garlic, tomato and garam masala, served with flat bread.
Week 3: Mango Curry with Roti. Green mango is cooked in a hot and sweet sauce with dried fruit. Roti will accompany the curry.
Week 4: Crispy Onion Fritters (pakora) with chutney. We'll use chickpea flour (besan) to create the pakora and cook tomato chutney from scratch.
Your course fee includes all ingredients ($60). Each night you'll cook your recipes, learning chef Clive's expert tips and tricks, and you'll enjoy your dishes at the end of the class.
Each week bring a teatowel and a container in case there are leftovers.
