A short intensive course for Elementary level students, both current and new, to help prepare for ther English learning in Term 1, 2023.
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested. A condition of accepting a course fee subsidy is that you commit to at least 80% attendance of your course.
The classes will run from Tuesday, 7 February to Friday, 10 February 2023 from 9.15am to 12.15pm.
Refresh and review your Elementary learning after the Summer break and before regular classes begin. This course is designed for new or existing lower level students, either new or returning. During this course you will be revising grammar from the Elementary English book and using it for different speaking, listening and writing exercises. These exercises will help you to become more comfortable with tenses and the five forms of verbs and will help you to converse and be understood more easily. You do not need to buy books for this course. The tutor will provide course material for you.
You will complete the course with more confidence and it will also help to decide if you should be in an Elementary or Pre Intermediate course.
For current lower level students who have recently completed Elementary classes in 2022, and for new lower level students unsure of their level and wishing to start English classes in Term 1, 2023.
