Think Talk: Neurodiversity. What Is It?

Karen will discuss the biological underpinnings of neurodiversity and changes that need to be made to accommodate this large group of people. She will also look at why there is a higher incidence of mental health problems in people who are neurodiverse.
About Dr Karen E Waldie
Dr Karen E Waldie is a Professor in the School of Psychology and with the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland. She was born in Victoria, BC Canada, and received her BSc at the University of Victoria. She received her MSc and PhD (1998; Neuropsychology) at the University of Calgary and went on to become a research fellow with the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study (DMHDS). She became a member of The University of Auckland academic faculty in 2001.
