This eight week course takes children through a process of getting to know different art media, as well as getting to know themselves and what they are capable of.
Each term, we will change the syllabus so that children who join again continue to be challenged and extended. Art materials are included in the enrolment fee. For children 6-12 years old. What to bring: Dress for mess, bring snack, drink bottle and an A3 folder to hold work. Maximum class size 15. Average class size 12.
Term 1 2021 After School Art: Bugs and Insects As inspiration, we'll use the micro-world to create our own stickers, illustrations, watercolours and paper figures of insects and microscope images to place them on different surfaces. This course will invite the kids to look through the insects’ universe to think of colours, textures and shapes to draw, fill in, cut and stick with the adhesive vinyl non-existent insects or magnify the sizes of the already existing ones.
Term 1 2020 The Masters
Come and join us on Monday’s for an afternoon full of creative fun and art-making. We will create artworks in the style of master artists as well as invent some of our own contemporary art making techniques. We will learn how to identify different types of art such as Cubism and Impressionism, as well as learning to draw, paint and make art objects from different materials.
Term 3 2019 Colours of the World
We'll learn techniques for using watercolour paints using landscapes, objects and animals as our subjects.
Term 2 2019 Map of Mythical Creatures
During this term we will be having fun with mythical creatures. We will be drawing, creating, colouring and letting our imagination run wild with wild landscapes, treasures and maps - while we are developing our painting and drawing skills.
Term 1 2019 Going Wild with Animals
During this term we will have fun with animals. We will explore nature through an artist’s eyes, drawing, colouring, illustrating, exploring and creating.
Term 4 2018 Watercolour Stories
Term 3 2018 Paint Pens and Popsicle Sticks!
Join Charlotte for an eight-week painting and sculpture workshop exploding with imagination. We will be using paint and paint pens to transform popsicle sticks into a rhythmic and colourful painted arrangement. We will then challenge ourselves to paint and then build a 3D sculpture of our own imagining.
Term 2 2018 Fantastical Botanical
Join Charlotte for an eight-week painting workshop exploding with imagination, in which we learn all about contemporary-fantastical painters Karl Maughan and Ayesha Green and Reuben Patterson and more. Students will create a series of drawings around the theme of real and imagined botanical landscapes - one of which we will transform into painting on card.

Term 1 2018 Dream Room
Learn to design in one and two point perspective and construct a 3D model of a dream room or space! *Bring a snack and drink bottle.
Term 3 2017 Painting Power!
Discover the magic of painting as you experiment with watercolour, gouache, acrylics, inks, glitter and salt. This fun filled class will develop students painting skills as they mix colours, create washes, mask and layer, all whilst exploring their imaginative worlds.
