    Course fees

    NOTE: This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas, and refugees, aged 16+ who are not currently enrolled in a secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested. A condition of accepting a course fee subsidy is that you commit to at least 80% attendance of your course.

    Course outline Creating a Calmer You

    Is anxiety controlling your life? Anxiety is commonly known as worry or stress and can manifest itself in a range of different situations.  If you want to live life free of excessive or unnecessary anxiety, then this course is for you.

    In this course you will earn about anxiety and stress and how to manage it in your life so you can feel calmer and more relaxed than you've felt in a long time. You will learn tools and strategies to reliably work with stress and anxiety and begin to develop a new perspective so you can set aside concerns and enjoy life. You will learn how to break that habit and prevent excessive worry from returning. 

    Expected Learning Outcomes for Creating A Calmer You

    1. Students understand anxiety and stress, what holds it in place and how it effects their mind and body
    2. Students are able to use multiple strategies to reduce the stress and anxiety they experience
    3. Students gain an understanding of what changes they can make in their life fulfil their innate human needs, and thus feel more fulfilled and less stressed in life
    4. Students are gain confidence that they can control anxiety and stress through regular practice of strategies
    5. Students experience greater well-being in their life through rating their anxiety and stress levels before and after
