Are you wanting to harness the benefits of yoga but don't know where to start? Do you have concerns about injuries, flexibility and fitness? Yoga and Somatics is a gentle, nourishing, balancing, and grounding class, suitable for all levels, including beginners. This course usually fills with a waiting list each term - let us know if you would like to book in for the whole year, with payment closer to the start of each course.
Yoga is a beautiful and ancient system for integrating mind, body and spirit. Yoga is a non-competitive activity and each student is guided to work within his or her own capability, gradually encouraging each body to greater flexibility and ease. You'll learn to manage your breathing for improved health, and will practise relaxation techniques.
Somatics is a form of sensory motor awareness, using the brain to recognise the way it senses and organises muscles and movement. Somatics helps us to target muscles that are holding tension when not in use, to teach the nervous system to release tight muscles, and to help us to move with more ease and comfort.
