Nicky Elmore

    Home Nicky Elmore

I am an Enviroschools Facilitator currently contracted to the Auckland Council Sustainable Schools Team.  I work across Central Auckland principally in the Orakei and Waiheke Local Board areas.

I was part of the group of parents responsible for establishing the "gully" as a learning space at Meadowbank School.  I established and led the Enviroschools programme at Meadowbank School and was involved in setting up Garden to Table there.  Recently I have been collaborating with For the Love of Bees establishing Highwic as a Regenerative Park and safe place for bees by involving local schools.  I am also working with the Eastern Songbird project engaging schools and community groups to bring back the birds to the Eastern Bays.  I am working collaboratively with schools and early childhood centres on Waiheke to empower students taking a role protecting their island and marine environment.

I am passionate about our children being connected to, learning in and taking responsibility for their environment.  I am excited to be supporting young people who think and act sustainably.
