Rachel completed her PhD in 2018 and is now an Assistant Professor/Lecturer of Psychology, at Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Her research focuses on emotion regulation processes within interpersonal relationships, including how different emotion regulation strategies during daily life and social interactions predict important personal and interpersonal outcomes, such as support, problem resolution, and relationship and personal well-being. Rachel's research also focuses on how emotion regulation processes within couples' interactions spill over to subsequent family interactions, such as when parents are playing with or interacting with their children. Rachel is also interested in investigating how parents' emotion regulation strategies influence children's emotional experiences and regulation abilities.
