Note that in order to create the best experience, the number of participants will be kept to 12 kids. To achieve this, and to keep the programme affordable for families, the programme fee has been subsidized by the GetReal organisation and its sponsors. Today's inspirational activist is Imogen Bunting of Fossil Free which is a student-led, grassroots activist group at the University of Auckland campaigning for the university to divest its coal, gas and oil company investments. Fossil Free UoA is affiliated with 350 International, an activist network that campaigns for institutions to cut financial ties with the fossil fuel industry. Imogen will talk about her work in Fossil Free and issues related to fossil fuels and she will show kids how to take and influence action.
Today's cooking activities will be run by Nichole Fernandez, an experienced baker and cook who is passionate about teaching children to cook and enjoy healthy food. Nichole will teach with a theme of Waste Not, Want Not. Kids will use Selwyn College's food-tech kitchens to cook healthy meals for people in need including meatloaf with vegetables, chicken puffs and fairy cakes. In addition to learning preparation and cooking, they will also learn about food waste. The prepared meals will be collected by the Salvation Army to be given to families in need.

However, preference will be given to those attending the whole week. The Friday workshop is only suitable for those who have attended at least one other day Monday to Thursday.
