    Description

    COURSE DATES 2021

    Each course runs over eight weeks. Each course has classes on Tuesday AND Wednesday AND Thursday 9:15 - 11:15 AM. Total 48 hours classes.

    1. Term 1 starts 16 February
    2. Term 2 starts 4 May
    3. Term 3 starts 27 July
    4. Term 4 starts 19 October

    ABOUT THE COURSE

    The English Upper Intermediate course is for those who generally speak with confidence and accuracy but need to develop fluency and the use of idiomatic English. This course teaches reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary. 

    Maximum class size 15 students. Average class size is 12 students.


    COURSE FEES

    NZ citizens and permanent migrants: $30 plus course books $95.  This course fee is subsidised by the Tertiary Education Commission and conditions apply.

    Temporary migrants: $420 plus course books $95. If you are awarded a resident visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.

    Refugees may qualify for fully subsidised course fees but will need to buy course books. Please contact the office for more information.

    TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION FEE SUBSIDY

    This applies to New Zealand citizens, permanent migrants and refugees

    The Tertiary Education Commission offers a fee subsidy for this course to qualifying students.

    NZ citizens, permanent migrants and refugees who are offered a place on this course will be offered the fee subsidy PROVIDING you can agree to the following conditions:

    • you promise to attend the full term (eight weeks)
    • you promise to attend at least 80% of classes
    • you prove your right to reside permanently in New Zealand through presentation of your passport or refugee papers before starting your course. You must have either a Resident Visa or a Permanent Resident Visa.

    If you are unable to agree to all these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation.


    COURSE BOOKS

    The books used on this course are  English File Third Edition Upper Intermediate Student's Book and English File Third Edition Upper Intermediate Workbook. The price of these books is $95. You must have these books to participate in the class.


    IMMIGRATION STATUS

    Permanent migrant: student holds NZ Resident Visa or NZ Permanent Resident Visa

    Temporary migrant: student holds Guardian Visa, Work Visa, Student Visa, Visitor Visa or other visas

    Refugee: student has been personally granted refugee status in NZ
