Create your own design and pattern.
Start from scratch with your basic measurements or use your own draft if you have one. Bring a favourite garment from your wardrobe as inspiration, a picture of a garment you would like to make, or a pattern you would like to adjust.
This course is suitable for those new to pattern making and those who would like to extend their skills.
During this class students work with paper (supplied) and tracing violene (you can buy your own or purchase from teacher at $2/m). An average pattern will use 2-5 metres depending on the pattern and size.
Students can use their patterns to make up trial designs using cheap fabric or something you already have. If you wish, you can sew these together at home. It is up to the individual whether they make up their garment after the fit is finalised, but this sewing is usually done as homework due to time constraints.
From 2017 course with Jenny Taylor:
I most enjoyed the level of knowledge Jenny has regarding pattern making and sewing. The information was clear and easily understood. Anon June 2017
