    Description

Would you like to start learning a new language?  Why not Spanish, spoken on four continents and more than 20 countries.  Come to join us in this fantastic introduction and enter the world of Spanish culture. This is an introductory level course.  Follow-on courses levels 2 - 4.5 are also available. Conversation Level 5 is a higher level class for those who wish to develop fluency in Spanish. We also offer Spanish for Travellers courses in weekend or weeknight formats. These focus on the language of travel as this Spanish Beginners course does not teach travel vocabulary and phraseology.

Note that this course requires some home study as well as classroom sessions.

    Course outline

    • Giving your name and asking others' names
    • Learn about differences in greetings in Latin America and Spain
    • Professions and occupations
    • Nationalities and languages you speak
    • Calendar, numbers, days of week and months
    • Time - asking the time

    Expected learning outcomes

On completion of this course we expect that you will be able to speak some basic Spanish, remember some essential vocab, be starting to learn some simple grammar, have the basics of pronunciation, and have some idea of Spanish culture and traditions. The amount of revision undertaken between classes can have a large influence on the final outcome for individuals. Each week, the course will build upon itself. We ask students to revise material between classes. In addition, a short homework exercise is usually set. We encourage you to set up a Duolingo Spanish account (www.duolingo.com) on your computer or smartphone and practise for 10 minutes daily. Visit our blog for tips and tricks on improving your Spanish language learning.

Our Spanish tutors create a fun and lively atmosphere in an informal classroom setting.

    Testimonials

¡Hola! I’ve just started classes for Spanish and I was so impressed with how well organised everything is. All the information that was given out was really helpful, and having students at the door guiding everyone in was awesome. Everyone was really friendly and I felt like the night ran smoothly (impressive considering how many people there were:-) ). Gracias! Jenny
