Description
Prerequisite for entry
Successful completion of Level 1 Beginners course (familiarity with greetings, be able to talk about yourself and your family, ask for directions, talk about the weather, ask about prices and restaurant orders) and familiarity with the following grammar and language structures:
- agreement of gender and number of some nouns/adjectives eg il libro interessante or i libri interessanti
- personal pronouns/subject pronouns eg io, tu, lui/lei, Lei, Noi, voi, loro
- negative and interrogative structures eg no, non, nessuno, niente
- definite and indefinite articles
- possessive adjectives eg mio, tua, suoi, nostre
- present tense of regular verbs eg -are, -ere, -ire
- present tense of some irregular verbs eg essere, avera, dare, fare
- some prepositions eg di, a da
- indirect pronouns eg mi, ti, gil
In this course, you will consolidate the basic skills learned in the Level 1 course, increase your vocabulary, learn about reflexive verbs, more irregular verbs.
Some students choose to repeat courses before moving ahead to a new level. Please contact the office if you are unsure which class is best for you.

- Italian Level 5-for those confident with using present, reflexive and past tenses - continue learning some grammar structures including future tense and develop your fluency.
