    About the course

New Zealand needs immigrants’ skills and experience! However, the job market can be challenging, especially when English is not your first language and you don't know the 'Kiwi' way of doing things.

This practical course will support you to build the knowledge, skills and confidence you need. Join us to improve your job-seeking vocabulary and grammar. Learn how to show employers what you offer with a ‘Kiwi’ CV, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. Find out where to look for a job. Practise interviews the Kiwi way, and learn simple NZ employment law.

Your tutor is an experienced ESOL teacher and career coach.

    Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course you will:

    1. Have the language, grammar and tools you need to summarise your skills (what you can do), experience (what you have done) and achievements (what you have achieved).
    2. Be able to write your CV and cover letter, use LinkedIn, look for a job, and answer interview questions - the Kiwi way.
    3. Understand how the job market works in NZ and know where to look for work.
    4. Have a personal plan to make progress in your job search.

    Who should attend?

Immigrants who are looking for a job (or would like to change jobs). The course is suitable for students whose English language skills are Intermediate (B1) and above.

    What to bring?

If you have a CV please bring it to class.  You will not need to share it with anyone unless you choose to.  (It is not a problem if you do not have one. We will cover this in class).
