Unleash your creativity in this hands-on sculpture-making class where everyday discarded objects become works of art! Using recycled materials—such as papier-mâché, egg cartons, cardboard boxes, plastics, and even nuts and bolts—you’ll design and build your own unique indoor sculpture for your home.
Guided step-by-step, you’ll explore construction techniques, surface treatments, and creative problem-solving as you transform simple items into imaginative, eye-catching forms. Perfect for anyone who loves making, upcycling, or adding a personal artistic touch to their living space. No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
On the first night just bring your imagination as we will discuss ideas and you will be shown inspirational examples of work by famous artists. On the second class you will then be ready to bring a collection of recycled items to start your sculpture.
Sanjay Theodore is a New Zealand conceptual artist who has exhibited in France, India, Australia and Aotearoa. His works are in collections such as The Tate Britain Library, The Royal College of Art and the National Art Library at the Victoria & Albert Museum amongst others.
