Teaching English pronunciation is something I genuinely love, and I hope that comes through in every lesson. For me, it’s about helping learners be clearly understood and feel confident using their voice in everyday life. Having spent many years as an English speaker, I understand just how important accurate pronunciation is for effective communication.
I am a qualified TESOL educator with over 22 years of experience supporting learners in Auckland primary and intermediate schools, and I now really enjoy working with adults from a wide range of backgrounds. My approach is warm and learner-centred. I take the time to listen, get to know each learner, and tailor lessons to focus on practical pronunciation skills that make a real difference.
Languages are a real passion of mine. Over the years I have learned Mandarin, several Chinese dialects, Malay, Japanese, New Zealand Sign Language, and American Sign Language—each one a reminder of how challenging and rewarding it is to learn something new. I bring that empathy into my teaching, creating a supportive space where learners can practise, improve, and build confidence.
