Get Found: Make Your Business Visible in AI Search

Home Get Found: Make Your Business Visible in AI Search

More and more customers don't search Google anymore. They ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google's AI answers, "Who's the best café in Takapuna?" Find out whether AI recommends your business, why or why not, and leave with a practical plan to get found.

    Description

    About the course

When someone asks an AI tool for a recommendation, it doesn't show ten blue links. It names a handful of businesses. If yours isn't one of them, you're invisible to that customer, and most businesses have no idea whether they're being recommended at all.

This hands-on workshop shows you how AI search tools decide which businesses to recommend, and what they draw on: your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your website, online directories and what others say about you.

In the morning, you'll run a live check of your own business: what a real customer sees when they ask AI for a business like yours, who gets recommended instead, and which sources AI relies on. We'll look at a real New Zealand case study of a small business that improved its AI visibility step by step.

In the afternoon, you'll build your fix list: the specific changes to your Google Business Profile, reviews, website pages and frequently asked questions that make your business easier for AI to find, trust and recommend. You'll start making some of them on the day.

You'll also learn to check what AI tells you, by clicking through to sources and confirming they're real, current and about the right place.

    Expected learning outcomes

    • Explain how AI search tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI answers choose which businesses to recommend
    • Check whether AI currently recommends your business, and who it recommends instead
    • Identify the sources AI relies on for businesses like yours
    • Improve your Google Business Profile and review approach
    • Write website content that answers the questions your customers actually ask
    • Keep your business details consistent across the web
    • Build a 90-day plan to improve your AI visibility, and a simple way to check progress monthly

    Who should attend?

    • Small business owners who want to know whether AI search is recommending them
    • Graduates of Marketing That Works (one-day or evening) ready for the next step
    • Local businesses that rely on being found nearby: cafés, salons, trades, shops and clinics
    • Service businesses, consultants and freelancers who win work through referrals and search
    • Anyone who looks after a small business's website or Google listing

No technical skills needed. If you can update a Facebook page, you can do this.

    What to bring

A laptop, your phone (with ChatGPT and Gemini you can log into; the free versions are fine), your logins for your website and Google Business Profile (if you have them), five questions your customers often ask you, and a packed lunch (if attending a weekend course)
