Abstract Painting
This course will introduce you to the world of abstract painting and allow you to create your own abstract works. If you already have some experience, you will be able to extend your painting skills. The course fee includes all materials.

Description
You will learn about various contemporary styles of abstract art. Classes will cover basic painting techniques, mainly focusing on painting with acrylics. You will be given a wide variety of colour, composition and creativity tips and guidelines. We will discuss the work of contemporary and modern abstract painters. You will explore your own interests in the area of abstraction, and you will be encouraged to paint what you think, feel and imagine.

Who should attend?
This class is suitable for complete beginners, as well as people who have done some painting in the past and looking for a fresh approach.
What to bring
We will provide all materials but as the course progresses you may like to bring some of your own. A materials charge is included within your course fee.
About the tutor
Ekaterina is an abstract artist based in Ōrākei, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. She completed her MFA at Elam in 2020.
