Description
COURSE DATES
Courses run for eight week courses. Each course has classes on Monday AND Tuesday AND Wednesday 7 - 9 PM. Total 48 hours classes.
- Term 3 starts 24 July. Final class 13 September 2023.
- Term 4 starts 9 October. Final class 5 December 2023. No class Labour Day Monday 23 October and no class 31 October.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The English Beginners course for those with little English. Learn the basics to enable you to start to speak, read and write. Please contact the office if you need to take a short test to find your English level.
Maximum class size 10 students.
COURSE FEES
NZ citizens and those with residency class visas: $30 plus course books $95. This course fee is subsidised by the Tertiary Education Commission and conditions apply.
Those with Visitor, Work, Student or other visas: $460 plus course books $95. If you are awarded a residency visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate.
If you already own the course books, your fee will be discounted.
Refugees may qualify for a free course but will need to buy course books. Please contact the office for more information.

TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION FEE SUBSIDY
This applies to New Zealand citizens and residents and refugees. Those with visitor or work visas, who have partners with citizenship or residency status, may also qualify. Please enquire.
The Tertiary Education Commission offers a fee subsidy for this course to qualifying students.
NZ citizens, those with residency class visas and refugees who are offered a place on this course will be offered the fee subsidy PROVIDING you can agree to the following conditions:
- you agree to attend the full term (eight weeks)
- you agree to attend at least 80% of classes
- you demonstrate your right to reside permanently in New Zealand through presentation of your passport/visa and/or refugee papers before starting your course.
If you are unable to agree to all these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation.

The books used on this course are English File Third Edition Beginner Student's Book and English File Third Edition Beginner Workbook. The price of these books is $95.00. You must have these books to participate in classes.
