Come and learn how to create a cake that has the WOW factor! Naked cakes have no outside layer of icing allowing you to show off the delicious layers and fillings inside and create amazing toppings. In our November course, Oscar will offer suggestions to ice the cake with a Christmas theme, giving the option of a fresh approach to this seasonal cake.
A naked cake is easily recognised by its absent or minimal outer layer of frosting, which shows off the cake's natural texture and filling. Some naked cakes have zero frosting on their outer edge, while others have just a wisp of buttercream (as illustrated). The cake for naked cake is most often white or yellow, although you can find naked cakes in every flavour from chocolate to funfetti.
Pastry chef Oscar will share her recipe for the most indulgent chocolate mud-cake ever. After making your cakes, she'll then share her professional tips and tricks for stunning adornment in the 'naked' fashion and you'll all ice your own cakes. All ingredients and decoration ($25) are included in the course fee and you'll take home your stunning creation.
