An intensive weekend IELTS preparation course to help you prepare for your IELTS test. You will learn strategies and test conditions across all four disciplines - speaking, reading, listening and writing. Entry level: For students with intermediate to advanced level English.
For NZ Citizens and residents, the course fee is $70 including photocopying and course book IELTS Testbuilder 2 ($15 tuition plus $55 book). This course fee is subsidised by the Tertiary Education Commission and you must agree to attend both days of the course. The subsidy will apply automatically when you enrol online. If you are new to our English school, please email us evidence of your NZ Citizenship, NZ Permanent Resident Visa or NZ Resident Visa.
For other students the course fee is $190 including photocopying and course book IELTS Testbuilder 2 ($135 tuition and $55 course book).
We strongly recommend you also buy Check Your English Vocabulary for IELTS by Rawdon Wyatt (Bloomsbury Press ISBN 978-1-4729-4737-6). You can buy this book at our office for $30.
This course will give you clear, straightforward tuition in how to maximise your score in IELTS for either the General or Academic test. By the end of the course you will have gained the confidence and skills to succeed in IELTS. The course runs 9.30am - 3.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday. We will take breaks so we encourage you to bring a packed lunch and a water bottle. By the end of the course, you will receive a very clear idea of your IELTS band score.

NZ citizens and permanent migrants who are offered a place on this course will be charged the subsidised course fee PROVIDING you can agree to the following conditions:

NOTE: This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas or visitor visas, and refugees. To qualify, registrants should be over the age of 16 years and not currently enrolled in a secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested. A condition of accepting a course fee subsidy is that you commit to at least 80% attendance of your course.
We do not offer the IELTS exam at our centre - only preparation study for the exam. For details of examination centres, please see www.ielts.org
Permanent migrant: student holds NZ Resident Visa or NZ Permanent Resident Visa.
Temporary migrant: student holds Guardian Visa, Work Visa, Student Visa, Visitor Visa or other visas.
Refugee: student has been personally granted refugee status in NZ.
