    Description

    ABOUT THE COURSE

    The English Intensive Advanced course has a strong focus on spoken fluency. The course book is New English File Advanced which contains meaningful and motivating contexts and topics. Advanced grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation are covered, as well as listening, reading and writing skills, NZ slang and culture.

    This Intensive course is designed to accelerate your learning. With 15 hours of classes per week, students make rapid progress with reading, writing, speaking and listening.

    Maximum class size 12 students.

    2024 COURSE DATES

    Each intensive course runs over eight weeks through Terms 1 and 2 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:15 AM - 1:00 PM. Total 120 hours/32 classes.

    1. Term 1 - 12 February 
    2. Term 2 - 6 May

    TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION (TEC) FEE SUBSIDY

    This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for: 

    • NZ citizens
    • Permanent migrants (those with Permanent Resident or Resident Visas)
    • Individuals granted refugee status
    • In some cases partners of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.

    Conditions:

    • Registrants must be over the age of 16 years
    • Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school
    • You need to attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy
    • We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
    • You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested 

    If you are unable to meet these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation.


    COURSE FEES

    Qualifying NZ citizens, permanent migrants (PR visa, resident visa):  FREE COURSE TUITION plus text books for $95. This fee subsidy has conditions attached.

    Temporary migrants (eg Visitor, Work, Student visas): $1225 including course books. If you are awarded a resident visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.

    Refugees may qualify for a free course but will need to buy course books. Please contact the office for more information.

    COURSE BOOKS

    The books used on this course are English File Fourth Edition Advanced Student's Book and English File Fourth Edition Advanced Workbook. You can buy these books for $95 from our office or supply your own.
