This course runs over two concurrent Wednesdays evenings with a Saturday morning offsite workshop in between. Are you wanting to create great photos for Facebook and Instagram or a blog? Join Ian and learn how to take fabulous food photos.
Learn to take creative, compelling food images for Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
This course will teach you how to do quick and easy setups at home for staged shots, plus making the most of impromptu situations at cafes and restaurants.
On the first night, everyone brings a plate to share for photos (then eating). On the second session, the group will meet offsite at a local cafe, likely the Eatery at Eastridge food court. The final session will be back at Selwyn Community Education for an editing session. Ian will set up a Facebook group for the class to share photos and ideas. Full notes will be provided.
For those who frequently take (or want to take) food photos for social media and want to sharpen their skills. Suitable for mobile phone cameras, compact cameras and DSLRs. You should already know how to use your camera at a basic level. Use your phone camera to snap, edit and upload photos on the spot. Bring your digital camera (compact or DSLR) if you have one. There will be a couple of loan cameras to use in class, and get all the info on which ones to buy.
Bring a plate or food item for the first class. You may choose to bring an interesting plate or surface to present your food. Bring your camera with a charged battery and space for images and a macro lens if you have one (not essential).
