    Facing job loss or uncertainty? Or simply wanting a job, company or career move?

    Defining, finding and landing a job that excites you is complex in any market, never mind a recession.

    Relying on being a competent worker does not make you a skilled job seeker, cv writer or interviewee. There are some basic skills you can learn to get ahead of the crowd. There are also things you can learn and practice to help you manage the stress and uncertainty of job loss or career change.

    • Getting job-ready: application letters, and CV writing
    • Presentation and interview tips and tricks
    • Staying positive and motivated despite setbacks
    • Strategies for coping with job seeker stress

    Expected learning outcomes

    Participants will leave this course with a strong understanding of:

    • Clarity on what role will suit best
    • Understanding what is required to be ideal-job-ready
    • How to apply for a position
    • How to ace the interview 
    • How to handle setbacks in a touch market/industry

    Who should attend this course?

    Anyone currently looking for work or considering a change of role or even career.  This course is suitable for all ages and career stages. The NZ government (via the Tertiary Education Commission) subsidises this course fee for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults aged 16+ and not currently attending a NZ secondary school.  To comply with requirements, we collect demographic information from students. You will need to supply evidence of your immigration status. The TEC-subsidised course fee is $28.

    Places are limited to 15 participants on this course. Please register to ensure a space is reserved for you.

    About Claire Lichtwark-McInnes

    I have been delivering courses in the corporate and local government arenas for several decades.  The most rewarding component of my role in Local Government was mentoring cadets.  Similarly, at McInnes Associates, I have provided career support and coaching.  Seeing people achieve meaningful long-term employment is a huge buzz.
