For Upper Intermediate learners
Join Jonny for a weekly English class with a focus on news and current affairs. This course is suitable for students with Upper Intermediate level English.
Using newspaper articles and TV news reports, we will study a range of grammar structures and introduce new vocabulary. There will also be opportunities to improve reading and listening comprehension. Upon completion of the course, you should feel better prepared and more confident to understand news articles and reports and to discuss current events.
Classes are 10am - 1pm on Thursdays over nine weeks starting 18 February.
For NZ citizens and permanent migrants, the course fee is $40. This is subsidised by the NZ government, through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission and is available to those who commit to attending at least 80% of classes. To claim this subsidy, you should have a NZ passport, a resident or permanent resident visa, be more than 16 years of age and not currently attending a NZ secondary school.
For all other learners (eg visitor visa, guardian visa), the course fee is $275.
