    Description

    Already know the basics of espresso but want to upskill your milk and pouring? Completed the Barista for Beginners course and want to expand your skills? Come and learn how to get your milk silky smooth and your coffee art looking less ‘aimless squiggles and splotches’ and more ‘wow how did you do that?’ Add some finesse to your coffee creations!

    We will learn and discuss the fundamentals then move to the coffee machine where you will be able to practice and receive tips and advice to improve your milk steaming and pour techniques.

    Course Fee Subsidy

    This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, and young people aged 16+ who are not currently enrolled in a NZ secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship or residency if requested. A condition of accepting this course fee subsidy is that you commit to attend the full course.

    • What is latte art and why do it?
    • How to steam perfectly textured milk
    • What the basic latte art shapes and patterns are
    • How to pour basic latte art shapes
    • Tips to minimize milk wastage
    • Introduction to latte art competitions

    Who should attend?

    Home or professional baristas who know the basics of espresso and are wanting to learn more about latte art and improve the quality of their steamed milk. 

    What to bring

    Bring your lunch. Recommended but not compulsory - bring your favourite milk jug and one of the cups that you would normally make your coffee in.

    To register for this course, you will have completed our Barista for Beginners course or already be able to confidently use an espresso machine to produce coffee.
