    Join EK on this introduction to abstraction using pattern and repetition. Have a fun day completing an artwork. All materials are included including paper and paints and a large canvas.

    Description

    Pattern is part of our world, our daily lives, and our thinking. In this dynamic workshop you will learn different abstract painting styles with an emphasis on pattern and repetition. You will be introduced to a wide range of techniques such as layering, juxtaposition, complexity, simplicity, and others. You will complete an artwork within the timeframe of the workshop. We'll use acrylic paint in this workshop.

    All materials, including paints and good quality paper, are provided for this workshop. We will also supply you with a 600 x 700 mm canvas to use.

    What to bring

    Your lunch. A painting smock or apron if you wish to protect your clothes. We'll provide tea and coffee in the staffroom. A materials charge is included within your course fee and all materials are provided.

    Who should attend this workshop?

    All levels of experience welcome.

    About EK

    Ekaterina is an abstract artist based in Ōrākei, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. She completed her MFA at Elam in 2020.
