    Description

    Here is your chance to delve into the joy of exploring, reading and finally performing a range of classic scenes from Twelfth Night.  You will also explore the language of Shakespeare and the way his works engaged his community.

    Expected learning outcomes

    1. Enhance your appreciation of the life and times of Shakespeare and his works
    2. Introduce a range of classic scenes from Twelfth Night and explore the language and characters, as well as the way that Shakespeare’s words and works engaged his community
    3. Participants will develop an understanding of the rehearsal process leading to a performance
    4. At the end of the course you will perform to an invited audience

    What will you do?

    Twelfth Night has been described as ”Shakespeare’s hilarious yet heartbreaking tale of unrequited love”. The play's focus is a range of themes including identity, love and deception.

    Who should attend?

    This class is suitable for students and lifelong learners of all ages.

    About your tutor

    June was formerly H.O.D. Drama at Selwyn College for 24 years and National Moderator for Drama. In her time at Selwyn she directed a large number of plays and musicals, as well as introducing the Selwyn Tertiary programme and the Junior Performing Arts. She is now the Director of the Selwyn Community Arts Theatre and is passionate about people of all ages having the opportunity to engage in drama experiences.
