    Join Ahilla for this continuation Arabic language course, designed for those who have completed our beginners course.

    Course outline

    1. Daily Life Essentials

    • Time & Days: Tell the time, talk about schedules, and learn the days of the week.
    • Weather: Describe today’s weather or forecast the seasons.
    • Shopping: Key phrases for buying groceries, clothes, and household items.

    2. Household Routines

    • Chores: Learn Arabic for cleaning, cooking, and basic repairs.
    • Daily Activities: Talk about waking up, eating meals, and bedtime routines.

    3. Health and Well-Being

    • Doctor’s Office: Speak about body parts and describe common symptoms.

    4. Grammar Basics

    • Past & Future Tense: Express actions you’ve done and plans for the future.

    5. Cultural Expressions

    • Proverbs and Idioms: Learn and use Arabic expressions like "Patience is the key to relief."
    • Small Talk: Master polite conversations and ask about someone’s day.

    6. Storytelling and Travel

    • Describe a Trip: Share experiences, dream destinations, and travel adventures in Arabic.

    7. Food and Dining

    • Restaurants: Order food, ask for the bill, and discuss your favorite dishes in Arabic.
    • Cooking Vocabulary: Learn to talk about recipes, ingredients, and meals.

    8. Expressing Preferences

    • Likes and Dislikes: Talk about your favourite hobbies, foods, and activities.
    • Opinions: Use polite phrases to agree, disagree, or share your views.

    Expected learning outcomes

    • Confidently engage in daily conversations, covering topics such as time, weather, shopping, and routines.
    • Describe past experiences and future plans using past and future tenses.
    • Navigate common situations like visiting the doctor, ordering food, and discussing health in Arabic.
    • Use cultural expressions, proverbs, and polite small talk to interact with native speakers.
    • Share your travel experiences, personal preferences, and daily activities with ease in Modern Standard Arabic.

    Who should attend?

    Those who have attended our beginners Arabic course and wish to continue their learning journey. If you have already completed an equivalent standard of learning elsewhere, we also welcome you to this course. Please contact the office for advice if you are unsure.

    About your tutor, Ahilla

    I am Ahilla Fares, born in Syria, and currently residing in New Zealand for nearly two years. Previously, I lived in Lebanon for over 11 years, where I had the privilege of teaching Arabic to foreigners. Being a native Arabic speaker, I am passionate about sharing my language and breaking down language barriers. Teaching has been a rewarding experience, and I am eager to continue fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for Arabic among learners.
