Description
Join us for a creative 4-week course designed to help you express your unique story through illustration. "Illustrate Your Life" is all about capturing the moments, people, and places that make up your world in a personal visual journal. This course will guide you step-by-step to develop your own illustration style while learning key skills to bring your life’s narrative to life on paper.
Week One - Main Character: Learn how to draw yourself as the main character in your own story, exploring techniques for capturing your likeness and personality through illustration.
Week Two - Supporting Characters: In this week, you’ll learn how to draw the people (family, friends, pets) who play key roles in your life, adding them into your visual narrative.
Week Three - Setting: Discover how to illustrate the places that are meaningful to you—your home, workspace, or favourite spots—while incorporating your characters into the environment.
Week Four - Plot: Combine all the elements you’ve learned to start illustrating the stories from your daily life, creating a dynamic visual journal that tells your unique narrative.
By the end of the course, you'll have a personal, vibrant journal filled with illustrated memories, stories, and a deeper connection to your creative self. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this course will empower you to creatively document your life in a way that’s both meaningful and fun.

About your tutor
Ashley Ruth lives and breathes art, taking her travel-size watercolour and mixed media supplies with her everywhere she goes - no exaggeration! She has developed her own unique style of watercolour and illustration and creates art every day, primarily through visual journaling. A gifted teacher, she will guide you through the creative process in an enabling and encouraging manner so therapeutic you won't want class to end.
