In this hands-on course, you’ll learn key Cubist & Abstract Painting techniques and create your own expressive artworks inspired by the principles of Cubism.
Step into the world of Cubism—an art movement that transformed how artists perceive and represent reality. You’ll begin by exploring how figures like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque broke away from traditional perspective, using fractured viewpoints and geometric structures to reimagine everyday subjects.
Through guided discussion, visual analysis, and practical studio exercises, you’ll first learn to deconstruct form, analyse structure, and build compositions in the Cubist style. As the course progresses, you’ll gradually move beyond Cubism’s structural foundations into more expressive abstract approaches— experimenting with colour, rhythm, and non-representational design to develop your own evolving visual language. By the end, you’ll have journeyed from structured Cubist techniques to freer abstract experimentation, discovering how one style can naturally lead into the other.
All materials will be provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity!
