The course is focused on the art of flash fiction – compact stories told in under 1,000 words – and on the use of sensory detail to create vivid narratives and reveal what remains unsaid.
Each 1.5-hour lesson pairs one of the five senses with a creative writing craft element, illustrated with short, published examples and followed by guided writing prompts, discussion, and practical exercises.

The participants will learn:
A bilingual writer, creative writing tutor, and music educator with over 30 years of experience, I hold a Master of Creative Writing from the University of Auckland. I write in both English and Bulgarian, with published and award-recognized work spanning flash fiction, short stories, long prose, and poetry. My writing explores sensory experience, belonging, memory, and cross-cultural identity, drawing inspiration from my life across my native Bulgaria, Southern Africa, and now New Zealand.
