    Description

Tai Chi is meditation in motion. It is a series of slow, continuous movements that promote physical and mental well being and improve coordination and balance. In this course you will learn Qigong, breathing exercises, Tai Chi Philosophy and some Tai Chi Yang style. This easy and relaxing class is an introduction to Tai Chi and Mindfulness.

    About Tai Chi Beginners

The beginner levels of Tai Chi teach you to find your correct postural position.  It includes movements that foster the flow of chi (energy) in your body. It is recommended that students practise at the beginner levels 1 through to 3 for a year or more before moving to the intermediate level. However, many students prefer to continue with this level for longer periods.

    This course will include:
    • relaxation
    • movement
    • meditative movement
    • co-ordination
    • posture
    • relaxation
    • centering
    • teaching about the theory of mindfulness and Tai Chi

These will all be taught within the context of the 37 posture short Yang form, preceded by 5 loosening exercises to aid the postures and movement within that form. There will also be an introduction to pushing hands. The teacher will spend some time in each class teaching the philosophy that supports mindfulness and Tai Chi.

    Who should attend?

This course is suitable for those totally new to Tai Chi and those with some experience.

    What should I bring?

Please wear comfortable clothing that permits movement.
