Understanding accounting concepts will help you successfully read, create and comprehend financial reporting. You will gain useful practical knowledge of accounting principles and methods. This course is designed for those new to accounting.
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for NZ citizen and permanent migrant adults, their partners on work visas, refugees, NZ citizen and permanent resident young people aged 16+ who are not currently enrolled in a secondary school. We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes. You must also provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested. A condition of accepting a course fee subsidy is that you commit to at least 80% attendance of your course.

This course will be useful for those who wish to study computerised accounting (eg Xero or MYOB) but do not have the prerequisite business process knowledge.
Those with no prior accounting knowledge who wish to understand the necessary financial processes for running a small business. Those who wish to learn a computerised accounting software package but lack prerequisite knowledge.
