2024 COURSE DATES
Courses run for eight week courses. Each course has classes on Monday AND Tuesday AND Wednesday 7 - 9 PM. Total 48 hours/24 classes.

- Term 2 - 6 May
- Term 3 - 29 July
- Term 4 - 14 October
ABOUT THE COURSE
The English Elementary course is for those starting to understand and use simple English who can understand familiar everyday expressions and phrases. This course teaches reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary. Please contact the office if you wish to take a short test to find your English level.
Maximum class size 12 students.
TERTIARY EDUCATION COMMISSION FEE SUBSIDY
This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) for:
- NZ citizens
- Permanent migrants (those with Permanent Resident or Resident Visas)
- Individuals granted refugee status
- In some cases partners of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.
Conditions:
- Registrants must be over the age of 16 years
- Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school
- You need to attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy
- We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
- You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status if requested

COURSE FEES
Qualifying NZ citizens and permanent migrants: $30 plus course books $95. This course fee is subsidised by the Tertiary Education Commission and conditions apply. You may also qualify for a free conversation course on the same night. Please enquire at the office.
Temporary migrants: $465 plus course books $95. If you are awarded a resident visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.
If you already own the course books, your fee will be discounted.
Refugees may qualify for a free course but will need to buy course books. Please contact the office for more information.
