    2025 course dates

    • Term 1 - 10 February
    • Term 2 - 28 April 
    • Term 3 - 21 July
    • Term 4 - 6 October

    All courses run on Mondays & Tuesdays & Wednesdays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM over eight weeks. This course offers 48 hours tuition per course, over 24 classes.


    About the course

    The English Intermediate course is For those who can usually understand native English speakers and can make themselves understood in familiar situations. This course teaches reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary. 

    Maximum class size 15 students. Average class size 12 students.


    Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) fee subsidy

    This course offers a course fee subsidy through funding from the TEC for: 

    • NZ citizens;
    • Those who hold a residency-class visa;
    • Those granted refugee status;
    • In some cases spouses of NZ citizens and permanent migrants may also qualify - please contact the office to enquire.

    Conditions:

    • Registrants must be aged 16 years or older.
    • Registrants must not be currently enrolled at a secondary school.
    • You should attend at least 80% of your classes to qualify for a fee subsidy.
    • We need to collect extra information such as age, ethnicity, educational achievement and gender for statistical purposes.
    • You must provide evidence of NZ citizenship, residency or refugee status.

    If you are unable to meet all these conditions, please contact the office to discuss your situation.


    Course fees

    Qualifying learners: $35 plus course books $95.  This course fee is subsidised by the TEC (see conditions above). You may also qualify to attend a free conversation class. Please enquire at the office.

    All others: $470 plus course books $95. If you are awarded a residency visa while you are studying with us, please let us know. You may qualify for a fee rebate on your current course.

    Refugees may qualify for a free course but will need to buy course books. Please contact the office for more information.

    Course books

    The books used on this course are  English File Fourth Edition Intermediate Student's Book and English File Fourth Edition Intermediate Workbook. The price of these books is $95.00. You must have these books to participate in the class.
