    Are you disappointed with the photos you get using the programmed modes on your DSLR? This course will teach you how to control the images you take and be in control of your camera rather than the camera controlling you. Great techniques and professional tips are taught with a very understanding and patient teacher.

    Description

    Follow-up to the Beginners class or for those already familiar with their camera. You will already know the basics of : camera modes, aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, ISO.

    During this course you will learn the correct exposure evaluation in relation to all the settings on your camera.

    • Synchronishing aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings
    • Lighting in both natural and flash
    • High/low speed flash techniques
    • White balance settings
    • Painting with light
    • What zoom setting to use
    • Assignments set for above

    On completion of this coures you will be able to get the qualities that make a great photo and be in control of this image.   You will be able to:

    • take photos of subjects with absolute control of your final image
    • use both flash and natural light together
    • Paint with light
    • Evaluate white balance in context to the environment
    • unlock creative abilities with professional techniques

    Who should attend:

    • those who are still a bit stuck on the auto settings of their camera, 
    • are not happy with images
    • want to know how to use natural and flash light together
    • use other interesting light sources to produce creative images

    For those with DSLR or similar cameras with manual functions.

    Ensure you charge your batteries the night before and bring your camera, batteries and manual with you to class.  This class is designed for adult learners.

    During the first class we will discuss the arrangements for the Wednesday night field trip.

    Prerequisites

    You should know how to use your camera on manual and semi-manual modes - aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, ISO, white balance.
