    Description

Your fruit trees and ornamentals lavish you with fruit, blooms and beautiful foliage. With effective pruning, they will reward you even further. Learn the techniques the professionals use in this talk and demonstration. This course consists of an evening classroom theory session followed by a hands-on Saturday morning practical session held off-site in a garden close to Selwyn College. This venue will be advised closer to the start date of the course. You may wish to offer your garden as a venue for the practical pruning session. You'll need to have a selection of ornamentals and fruit trees onsite. If so, please contact the office and we'll connect you with the tutor.

    What to bring

Pen and paper for classroom session. For the practical session, dress according to the weather and temperature (rain jacket, hat, sunblock hopefully) and bring a waterbottle. Wear practical gardening footwear and bring your gardening gloves if you like. Bring any pruning tools you have (e.g. secateurs, loppers, pruning saw). Please ensure these are hygienic to avoid spreading disease. Paul will discuss this in the classroom session.

    Testimonials

Hi, Would like to say how much I enjoyed this course  - having both the theoretical and practical sessions made all the differences to learning how to do successfully something new.  Paul is an excellent teacher and highly recommend him. It was a pleasure to have the class at my place on Saturday and my trees certainly benefited from the exercise!! Kind regards B Cox June 2021

Just a big thank you for the pruning course and Paul's advise on pruning my large variety of trees.  This course has given me the confidence to prune my trees safely.
    Regards, Julie B April 2014
