- Course fees are payable at the time of the registration, unless otherwise arranged with the office.
- Registrations will be confirmed, course instructions, relevant materials lists and reminders sent, after course fees are paid.
- Payments are GST (Goods and Services Tax) inclusive.
- If a class has insufficient enrolments to proceed, we will advise you and a full refund will be given or a transfer to another class may be offered.
- Refunds and Transfers for general courses: If you are unable to attend a course and provide at least 5 working days notice before the course starts, we will refund your course fee, transfer your course fee towards a different course, or hold your course fee in credit, as requested, less a $25 administration charge. Refunds or transfers or credits will not be given for withdrawals within 5 working days of the class start, or once a class has started. We make the decision to proceed with courses based on the numbers of registrations and income received for those courses.
- Refunds and Transfers for English (ESOL) classes: If you are unable to attend a course and provide at least two weeks notice before the course starts, we will refund your course fee, or transfer your course fee towards a different course, or hold a credit, as requested, less a $25 administration fee. Refunds or transfers or credits will not be given for withdrawals within two weeks of a course start date, or once a course has started. Course fees are payable two weeks before the course starts unless special payment arrangements are agreed with the office. We make the decision to proceed with courses based on the numbers of registrations and income received for those courses.
- Government-subsidised courses: Those who are not NZ Citizens or holders of residency class visas (or others qualifying students) are welcome to apply but will need to pay the full course fee. Course participants will be asked to provide proof of residency, and if not supplied will be liable for the full course fee. Selwyn Community Education is required to collect demographic information for subsidised students for reporting purposes. Students taking advantage of these course subsidies must attend a minimum of 80% of classes.
- The Smoke-free Environments Act requires the ground of schools and early childhood education and care centres to be smoke free at all times.
- Notwithstanding our policy about refunds and transfers, please let us know if you will not be attending a course so your place may be offered to another student.
